The B2 First (FCE) assesses the four essential language skills. It lasts about 3h 30m and certifies the ability to communicate independently in academic and professional environments.
Structure
- Reading & Use of English (1h 15m): 7 parts, 52 questions on advanced grammar and vocabulary.
- Writing (1h 20m): two texts of 140-190 words (a compulsory essay + one of article/letter/report/review).
- Listening (~40 min): 4 parts, 30 questions.
- Speaking (14 min per pair): interview, photo description, collaborative task and discussion.
